49 of 91 people found this review helpful. You wake day after day to the comfort and security of your home. A couple's wedding day turns horrific as some of the guests start showing signs of a strange illness. It even takes its name: DARKNESS.
Anyways. A teenage girl moves into a remote countryside house with her family, only to discover that their gloomy new home has a horrifying past that threatens to destroy the family. At her new job in a rundown children's hospital, a nurse desperately tries to keep her patients safe from a plague of random, mysterious attacks. Returning to her childhood home in Louisiana to recuperate from a horrific car accident, Jessabelle comes face to face with a long-tormented spirit that has been seeking her return -- and has no intention of letting her escape. There is nothing original; The script is incredibly lazy, relying on jump scares and the musical score stabs. It's another well off family in a big beautiful house that you'll never afford in a very basic plot that has zero substance.

The film's plot follows an American family who move into a house in the Spanish countryside, where six children disappeared during an occult ritual forty years before; the teenage daughter and young son of the family are subjected to increasing disturbances in the house.
