I imagine it is starving for sun, but I’m unsure if it’s over- or under-watered because there are some softer leaves near the bottom.
After reading the guide on here, I’ve realized I’ve severely underwatered it.
I’ve had my zebra plant for nearly half a year now, and it’s always been doing fine. Haworthia are small (usually remaining between 3 inches and 5 inches in height) and relatively slow-growing. Guessing florescent but will check.I bought my zebra plant from a TJMaxx believe it or not… I saw that a couple of it’s “leaves” were broken off, and a couple of the tips had fallen off as well when I decided to rescue it. 3 weeks later its lower leaves got yellow and mushy and started falling off. My question is regarding a small patch of Zebra leaves that match the plant have sprouted about 5 inches from the plant on one of the flower stems. And can I use my Verilux happy light as opposed to buying a growth light to help supplement its growth on over cast days?
What do you do with the flower that grows from the stem? It’s best to use the Haworthia fasciata is not cold hardy, so if you live in a zone that gets colder than 30° F (-1.1° C), it’s best to plant this succulent in a container that can be brought indoors.It does best partial sun. When propagating using leaves, pluck a healthy leaf from the mother plant.Allow the wound to heal for a few days.
Both H. attenuata and H. fasciata have large leaves that hold water.
I do have a light under my cubicle cabinet that is pretty bright. If growing outdoors, find a spot where your Haworthia will receive at least Avoid exposing your Haworthia fasciata to direct sunshine for long hours especially during summer.
If it doesn't, it might be a good idea to pop the plant out of its container and add a layer of gravel to the bottom to reduce the wicking action of the soil above. Maybe even snow on the ground? I have had mine for over a month now and am wondering if the tips will grow back or will stay broken? Instead, mix with perlite, aquarium gravel, or pumice.
The outside pieces are brown and dried up. Haworthia is a delightful little succulent that makes a very attractive small houseplant.
H. bolusii have "tufted" edges to the leaves. Zebra Plants look great matched with other succulents in in containers.
